HEAT TREATING
Our heat treat operation consists of box, tilt face, and car bottom furnaces, and both water and polymer quench tanks. Furnace operations are accomplished with programmable controllers that control and monitor high-velocity burners for most efficient operation, thus ensuring best-in-class furnace temperature uniformity.
Forge USA’s high-agitation quench system achieves maximum depth of hardness. Proprietary software allows us to monitor hardness trends by alloy, and to monitor the tempering temperatures required to achieve hardness at the top of the range. Overall, we’re capable of handling parts to 30 feet in length.
FORGING
Forge USA’s forging facility features a 2000-ton hydraulic press, coupled with a 20 metric-ton capacity rail-bound manipulator. Featuring a maximum lift capacity of 60,000 pounds, this is the only high-speed press/manipulator unit south of Chicago and east of Los Angeles.
The hydraulic press features 100 inches of daylight and 100 inches from column to column. Forge USA capabilities encompass manufacturing parts up to 90 inches in diameter and 24 feet in length.
An additional forging cell features a 14,000 pound air hammer. Both forging cells can be operated simultaneously across multiple shifts.
